a home brewed, shade tree geek. i have been tampering with linux since RedHat 5 and SuSE 6 and on. Now I'm sold out completely. Distribution of choice is slackware here 
. Even the kids got damnSmall linux installed on that old laptop, they love it. They'll tell about how dad works with penguins.
Educated at UAB, i have my degree in Accounting with a minor in International Business.
Currently, I am a software engineer with Akamai Technologies.
p.s. Linux servers make the tubes of the interwebs work. 
Previously worked at McKesson HEV (formerly Awarix ) as a Senior Software Implementation Engineer. Deploying enterprise healthcare software, on linux servers across the US and around the world.
Before that, I worked at Compass Bank in the PC Banking dept. and attending UAB to finish my accounting degree. i haven't been able to contribute as much to different projects as i want hear of recent, due to school and work. to keep funding for school i have to be a full-time student, and to be able to eat i have to be full time at work. and outside of that i have a my fun little family.
the home desktop is Slackware with mythTv and the PVR-150.
all work workstations are linux variants.
the home server is running Slackware and a slackware firewall.
the netbook is split slackware/ubuntu.
on irc, usually irc.freenode.org, i'll be vbatts
